The rising Chinese market for Western products

China usually conjures images as the world's factory, however increasingly the Chinese market for imported Western products is thriving. The rise of China's middle-class, in tandem with increased exposure to foreign 'high quality' products online, has fuelled this growth. In particular, the Chinese upper-middle classes desire the newest and niche items.

This demand of imported goods has been particularly evident online. Worldwide demand for online shopping has risen, but in China in particular, people have turned online to meet their appetite for imported brands. This is because consumers could have difficulties finding affordable imported goods in their local stores.

As reputable 'cross-border e-commerce' websites have solidified their market position, not only can they offer better prices, but they also guarantee against counterfeit goods and regulate for highest quality. China frequently encounters nationwide scandals when counterfeits passed for genuine products, particularly outside non-first tier and non-coastal cities.

These days, the legalisation and regulations of Chinese 'cross-border e-commerce' have allowed the demand for foreign products to be realised. Qing is at the forefront of this new industry and continues to work with new partners giving them access to the Chinese market.
